Mr. Chelsia Norton, age 76 of Blue Ridge, Georgia died on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Norton was born on Wednesday, September 25, 1935 in Clayhole, Kentucky and was the son of the late Jack Norton and the late Sally Davis Dillard. He and his late wife Shirley owned and operated the Blue Ridge Tastee Freeze for 35 years. Mr. Norton was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a 1955 graduate of Breathitt High School. Mr. Norton was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Norton, Jr.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Cheryl Norton of Blue Ridge, GA and Ryan and Holly Norton of McCaysville, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Joey Pirkle of Cumming, GA, sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Hamp Barnett of Chattanooga, TN and Betty Lou and Barney Pedigo of Hiawassee, GA and grandchildren, Whitley and Nathan Grizzle, Zach Norton, Alley Norton, Lydia and Caroline Pirkle, and Brad and Landon Norton.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 25, at 11:00 am from the Akins Chapel with Rev. Bradley Elliott and Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Interment will be in Sugar Creek Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Queen, Bobby Bearden, Elden Moates, Frank Turner, Jimmy McVey, Eddy Sisson, Rodney McVey and Danny McFarland. Employees of the Circle J Steak House have been asked to serve as honorary escort. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be sent to one of the following churches in honor of their father, Chelsia Norton: Temple Baptist Church, PO Box 143 Blue Ridge, GA 30513, First Baptist Church of McCaysville, PO Box 867 McCaysville, GA 30555 or Friendship Baptist Church, PO Box 3180 Cumming, GA 30028.
