Carl Max Stewart, age 76, of Grandview, MO, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Research Medical center in Grandview, MO. Mr. Stewart was born October 4, 1935 in Hamilton, MO to the late Carl and Hazel Stewart. He was a member of Lee’s Summit Baptist Temple. He was Vice President of Cartwright Van Lines retiring in the 1980’s. After retirement he became a volunteer driver for Foxwood Springs in Raymore, MO. Max loved flying and enjoyed car racing. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-daughter, Cynthia Parks.

He is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Peggy Buchanan Stewart of the home; children, Brian Stewart of Orlando, FL, Sabrina Stewart of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Tommy Grindstaff; niece, Roseann Tuttle; nephew, David Grindstaff; great nieces and nephew, Jill, Benjamin and Charitty Tuttle all of McCaysville, GA; and Family of the Heart, Geanette & Joey Rogers, and Tommy & Alma Callahan.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, May 10th at 3:00 p.m. from the Chastain Memorial Park with Rev. Danny Collis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 2:45 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mr. Stewart may be made for Myasthenia Gravis to the University of Kansas Endowment Dept. of Neurology, ATTN: Dr. Richard Barohn, 5399 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, KS 66160.
